Meditation and taoist yoga will be led by Michael Hartigan, a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism and Siddha Mahayoga. A Millvale resident with 25+ years of meditation experience, Michael has taught and led meditation at the Three Rivers Tibetan Cultural Center, Shambhala Meditation Center of Pittsburgh, and as a Buddhist Prison Chaplain at Allegheny County Jail. He has worked with meditation in the context of healing trauma and physical dis-ease at the Three Rivers Free Clinic For The People, and leads Monday Meditation weekly at The Millvale House.
Retreat practice, dedicated to meditative and contemplative practice, is a cornerstone of spiritual life. Dedicated yogis, monastics, seekers, and meditators have always taken weeks, months, or even years and given themselves over to deep meditative practice. In this one-day intensive, we will have an opportunity to glimpse why this is so. You're invited to deepen your practice with a day of retreat at The Millvale House. Vegetarian lunch and all-day tea bar provided by Tupelo Honey Teas.
It is recommended that participants have an active meditation practice. This is not recommended as an event to attend to learn to meditate.
