Sunday March 1, 2020. 4pm,-6pm,
Join herbalist Annie Derek and meditation guide Helen Stickney for the second session in this series of guided explorations with herbs. In this workshop we will commune with Burdock, an abundant backyard medicine that most of us have growing right outside our homes! Burdock has a nutty, grounding flavor and supports our bodies' natural detoxification process - making it the perfect herbal ally to clear the sleepy stagnancy of late winter. Burdock is a traditional liver tonic, supports a healthy digestive system, and is often used in formulas for skin issues such as eczema and psoriasis. While there’s much to be learned about herbal medicines from books and the internet, one of the most powerful ways to get to know a plant is by sitting with it in meditation. In this workshop, we’ll come together in meditation to taste various forms of Burdock and explore our own experience of the medicine that this plant and our own bodies have to offer us. We will conclude with guidance on how you can work with this herbal medicine in your own life for your greatest health and well-being. Cost $25.00 RSVP is required to hold your space. We have a very limited class size. Please call Janet at 412-821-2265 to get on the list.
